First on this week's roundup is Bruno Mars. I knew that dude was a star since I first heard him on B.o.B's nothing on you, and I've said that twice before, refer to my Grammy nominations and Top 10 Billboard blog posts. So what has he done again this time? Well, Bruno is the only act in 13 years to have his first to solo released charting singles get to number 1 on billboard. Thats success right there, this was confirmed when "Grenade" hit number 1 on billboard a few hours ago. Not forgetting that he had a number 1 hit with B.o.B.("Nothing on You" which doesn't count in the record) and a nuuber 4 hit, "Billionaire" with Travie McCoy. Way to go, Bruno, you are a star, keep doing good and we'll keep supporting
P.S. The only person to achieve this before Bruno was Diddy in '97
In other news, Wiz Khalifa and Enrique Iglesias's singles, "Black and Yellow" and "Tonight(I'm Loving You) have debuted on billboard's top 10 with numbers 6 & 7 respectively. Also, I just had sex by Lonely Island and Akon has made it's billboard debut, and it comes in this week at no 30.
In album sales news, Taylor Swift's "speak now" is back at number 1 due to Christmas sales, Susan Boyle's "The Gift" came in at number 2 this week. Newcomers Jamie Foxx, Keisha Cole and Keri Hilson with their respective albums, "Best Night of my Life", "Calling all Hearts" and "No boys Allowed" debuted at #6, #9 and #11 respectively.
