Ebola in America: Another form of Racism?

Before, I start, I do realize the grave suggestive nature of my title, but I, at this point have no intention of going into the "propaganda" that might or might not be involved with the recent Ebola outbreak. I just want to try as best I can to put my thoughts on paper, as regards to the handling and death of Thomas Eric Duncan (RIP), the man with the first diagnosed case of the Ebola virus in the United States.

A lot of opinions have being going around about the fishy nature of the death; and for good reason, "Why is the first black guy to get Ebola in the US dead, especially after two white Americans survived?" Very valid question, but one that requires more qualitative thinking before coming to any conclusion whatsoever. I'll try to walk though the situation as best I can based on what we know from the news and online media.

American officials had said long before the death that the experimental drug "ZMapp," believed to have been instrumental in curing Kent Blantly, and Nancy Writebol, the U.S. citizens who contacted the virus while on Ebola aid in Liberia, was no more available. That story holds up well considering that the drug was in experimental stage when it was given to the U.S. citizens. ZMapp is in fact still in a research stage, and based on what is known, there is no more ZMapp available and it will take a lot of time before it is available again, even for experimentation.

Something else to consider would be that, the Americans who survived Ebola were diagnosed very early into contraction of the virus, as opposed to Thomas Eric Duncan who was sent home for 3 more days after the symptoms started to manifest. The Americans were also quarantined and given the experimental drug straight from Liberia, flown in isolation to the US and then taken to hospitals that were already Ebola ready. Mr Duncan was in an entirely different situation because he made his trip to the U.S. when he could not be diagnosed for sure with the virus. The hospital he eventually checked in to was clearly blindsided with the discovery, they had no prior preparations and no strategies in place to contain the virus, the basically learned on the job.

Additionally, after all that, the U.S. patients where admitted for 14 and 19 days respectively after they were flown in to the U.S. before they were confirmed Ebola free. Thomas Eric Duncan died after 11 days in the hospital, add the 3 days after he was sent home the first time, and maybe he might have survived the virus. If one also considers the fact that Mr. Duncan was given a different experimental drug "brincidofovir," long after he was admitted in the hospital, an assertion can be made that it was too late at that point, or even that this other experimental drug was just not as effective.

Ultimately, it is an unfortunate situation, and there are a lot of questions to be answered, but before any questions are asked and answered; one must go through the facts of the situation and make reasonable assumptions to come up with a suitable theory. RIP Thomas Eric Duncan, may God keep and guide his family through this period. Amen.

Yelawolf - Made in the U.S.A Ft Priscillia Renea (Prod by Emanurl Kiriakou)

The matter of this song has bothered me for weeks. As a matter of fact, from the day I copped Yelawolf's "Radioactive" album, I've been wondering why this song wasn't released as the first single instead of "Hard White (Up in the Club Ft Lil Jon" (and I absolutely love that song BTW). To me, this song is in the same class as "I Love the way you Lie", "Whats My Name" and any other big Rap/RnB collaboration. It is very Billboard Top 10 worthy. In that light, I'm doing my part to share it as much as I can, Listen, Replay, Re-share, Tweet and post on Facebook y'all!

For The Love Of Wizkid (Weezy in Houston)

Wizkid will be here in Houston, Tx with us this weekend. I have taken out the time to compile an analysis of the girl craze that will be associated with him as he performs somewhere in this big town tonight (Zanzibar, Houston). If you follow me on twitter (@freshboi111) you'll have seen this analysis already if you were on my TL at the time i was tweeting (or if you stalk my tweets you freaking stalker!!). For the benefit of those who do not follow me on twitter or those who don't pay attention to my tweets, I'll take the liberty of re-analyzing again.

Wizkid just landed in Houston a couple of hours ago. However, weeks or even months before his PROPOSED arrival, girls out here have been preparing for his coming (instead of them to be preparing for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ). How do girls prepare for the coming of our Daddy Wizkee some might ask; simple:

1. Buy that gown at the Galleria Mall (the biggest shopping complex in the Houston area) that you've been saving up for for 2 years.

2. Practice ass shaking steps to catch Wizkid's eye

3. Cop butt pads, padded bras, push up bras and all other enhancing accessories.

4. Finally, form posh and ask for *water on the rocks* at the club (if you don't get the joke, don't worry, it's an inside joke for insiders *wink*)

That being said, I have a couple of words for girls planing to do all or either of these things before hitting Zanzibar tonight. Just like my twitter, I estimated that at least 500 girls will put one or all of the feats above to score the mighty Wizkid tonight. Of these 500 horny females, about 50 wont make it there maybe cause their parents found out at the last minute, their cars broke down, their hornier friends feel they pose a treat to their chances so they purposely forget to pick them up etc. whichever way, these poor 50 are already out at the first stage of the "Land Wizkid Competition"

Now, of the 450 remaining girls, about 150 are neither pretty nor sexy, these ones are automatically out of contention (please take no offence, every girl is pretty, some just wont fit in to the definition of pretty in Today's context).

That leaves about 300 girls/ladies/women/mothers. Of these 300, 200 won't be in VIP, they purchased regular tickets cause they used all the money to buy their dresses. Not being in VIP means Wizkid won't see them, so they're automatically out of contention, sorry girls, next time buy a cheap dress and VIP ticket.

This leaves 100 girls eh? Yeah. But see, this is the best/most complex part. 50 girls in VIP along with 50 girls with regular tickets will quickly realize that they can't quite score Wizkid so they'll sharply target his manager, upcoming artistes in the area, music video directors, producers and maybe some rich guys etc. These girls will be definitely out of the Wizkid Competition but they are winners in their own rights as they've scored consolation men for the night.

Finally, the 50 left in VIP are going to go to work. That's where pulling Wizkid, planting kisses all over his body, flashing boobs and all that ass whining practice come into play. But Wizkid is just one man, he'll probably only notice 2-5 girls, and those are the ones he'll probably carry home...OR NOT, he might be tired and want to sleep, or he might want to experience some American Pie type Blonde College GIRL, but we do NOT hope for that, do we?

Either way though, an awful lot, if not all the girls with the aim of wooing Wizkid tonight might come up short, but they might not, so my advice to y'all, let your work payoff, may the Biggest BOOBS win!!!!

D'Banj VS Don Jazzy (My Opinion)

First, Let me start by saying, I at this point have no conclusions based on the information released so far. I think one of the involved parties needs to come out and say, "Hey, this is what happened and this is the point we are at now"; till then, I don't completely believe anything. That being said, this article will be based on the publicly accepted/inferred version of the situation, please do NOT get it mixed up.

Let's get some things straight here, D'banj and Don Jazzy were MoHits. No one was visibly higher or more authoritative than the other, in fact, the only distinctions between them were that: Don Jazzy was CEO of MoHits Records and D'banj was Vice CEO (which I would infer was because he had less physical work to do and significantly more time to handle business matters as D'banj was the performer and the face of the MoHits franchise). Also, D'banj was the artiste and spokesperson for Mohits and Don Jazzy was the producer and the man behind the scenes putting in work. Those alone cannot tell us who had more power or who made who. I would infer that they were equally important to each other and equally vital to one another's individual successes and the collective success of MoHits as a whole.

Also, assuming D'banj and Don Jazzy actually split; who knows what happened? Who knows why they split? Who knows who initiated the split? My answer will be NO ONE except D'Banj and Don Jazzy themselves. With that in mind, we cannot judge the situation, side anyone or make it about tribe (this is the most bitter part of the whole situation, we're all Nigerians for God's sake, and this has no link to their respective tribes). Based on that, we must wait for more clear cut information to be given by the involved parties before we can conclude, summarize and pick what side we support.

Similarly, why bash D'banj for claiming to own MoHits or be the founder? Again, we do NOT know the full story (D'banj has publicly admitted that Don Jazzy was MoHit's CEO at some other interviews and that goes against that statement to some extent). I can understand the air of disloyalty that swirls around D'banj because of that statement in the interview. However, we gotta understand that the man is human. If the situation is as we think it is, then he and Don Jazzy are not the best of friends at this point; its very natural to feel like you did all the work, or the one that did the most influential things in these kind of situations, it happens to ALL OF US, so don't go judging D'banj, he's only human.

NOTE: I however give Don Jazzy a lot of credit for being silent and general about the situation and not causing any controversy, that is a very mature act.

Finally, let us leave D'banj and Don Jazzy alone at this time (not literally but give them some breathing space as this is a tough situation to be in). There's nothing unusual about the way they're handling things, I don't understand why people feel so strongly about the issue like one of them killed your family member or something; and making this a tribal issue? That's just the WORST.

NOTE: It might seem to some people that I supported D'banj in the article above. However, I tried to be as neutral as possible, if I was to be bias at all, I would support Don Jazzy. The only reason I've defended D'banj is because a lot of people are against him, also because he's been a little controversial in his handling of the situation while Don Jazzy has been a little more mature and chilled about it.

Also, I expect some people that feel strongly about the situation to post some harsh comments, knock yourselves out people, we do NOT know each other and if we do, oh well you'll be alright :D!

Another Disappointing Video

So in the abject boredom that has hit us in Daytona Beach, Fl in recent times (or in the entirety of our switch from Nigeria to be fair), my boys have decided to put out this disappointment of a video of them dancing to an igbo song (i was recording so I deny every affiliation to this video btw).

Please just watch it solely for the purpose of giving them views and increasing my social popularity in the process, thanks!!
